2024 Holiday Gift Guide for expecting families

The holiday season is here, and with Black Friday happening TOMORROW, it’s the perfect time to prepare for your baby’s arrival—or to find the ideal gift for the expectant parents in your life. Whether you’re a parent-to-be or shopping for someone special, this guide includes must-have baby items that will also be a gift to the new parents. Pair any of these items with a doordash gift card, home cooked meal, coffee gift card or offer a night of babysitting for the new parents and you’ve just curated the perfect gift for a new family!

Each category features practical, high-quality items that make life with a new baby easier and more enjoyable. As a birth coach and mom of two myself, these are the items I consistently recommend to clients. All of the links provided are affiliate links and I so appreciate any of the shopping you do that helps my small business grow!

Nursery Essentials for Sleeping:

  • Velcro Swaddles - KeaBabies Organic Swaddle Sleep Sacks

    • These are a MUST. Don’t spend your time stressing with the swaddle blankets. The velcro swaddles are so much easier and gave me peace of mind knowing my baby wouldn’t be busting out of it every 15 minutes while I was trying to sleep!

Diapering Needs:

Make diaper changes much easier with these essentials!

  • Diaper Bag - Elkin Diaper Bag

    • My husband picked this one out and I was happy to go with it because he has no problem wearing it. I wanted to go with something he was comfortable carrying so I wouldn’t be stuck with it. Ask your partner which diaper bag they like, also!

  • Changing Pad for Dresser - Keekaroo Changing Pad

    • This is definitely on the pricier side when it comes to changing pads, but I got it as a hand-me-down and it has been through 4 babies. It still works great, so I know it’s good! Yes, it’s tempting to get a cuter one. I did that with our first son and immediately regretted it because I couldn’t wipe it down easily. Don’t waste your time on one that doesn’t wipe off!

  • Diaper Pail - Diaper Dekor Diaper Pail

    • I don’t have any secret for how to keep a diaper pail from stinking, but this was the least offensive smelling one we tried!

  • Diapers - Huggies Diapers

    • These are great or Kirkland brand from Costco!

Feeding Gear:

Whether breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, these tools offer great support during the early days of feeding and beyond.

  • Bottles - Philips Avent Baby Bottles (BLACK FRIDAY DEAL)

    • These have been my go-to bottles for both babies!

  • Breastfeeding Pillow - Boppy Nursing Pillow (BLACK FRIDAY DEAL)

  • Hand Pump - Madela Manual Pump

    • Possibly the most underrated baby item! Super easy to throw in the diaper bag or car for pumping on the go.

  • Hands Free Pump - Momcozy Hands Free Breast Pump ($100 OFF FOR BLACK FRIDAY)

    • Having a hands free pump changed my life! It make going on vacation, day trips and going back to work so much easier!

  • Formula Dispenser - Baby Brezza Formula Dispenser (22% OFF)

    • If you are formula feeding, this is a game changer! The Keurig for babies!

Travel and On-the-Go:

These travel-friendly essentials make life easier for parents who are always on the move.

  • Stroller - UppaBaby Vista V3

    • This stroller is pricey, but SO worth it. The ride is so smooth, it easily converts into a double stroller and the basket size is bigger than any other stroller I’ve seen. Highly recommend!

  • Baby Carrier - Ergobaby 360

    • I’ve tried a bunch of carriers and this continues to be my favorite! Super versatile and easy to put on!

  • Portable Play Pen - Graco Pack-n-play Playard

    • In our house, this is used DAILY. Perfect for the crawling stage when the baby needs to be contained for a few minutes but doesn’t want to go in a chair or swing. We keep this in our living room with toys in it and our son loves playing in it. Sometimes we even get to drink a full cup of coffee in peace while he’s playing! It also works great outside on nice days!

Bath Time Basics:

Whether you’re shopping for your baby registry, a thoughtful holiday gift, or a little something to make life easier during pregnancy or postpartum, these essentials have you covered. Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to save on these trusted items, so don’t wait to check them off your list!
