WHAT IS PRENATAL COACHING?

Pregnancy is an exciting ride, but let’s be honest, it can also feel like a lot. There’s so much to figure out, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the questions, decisions, and emotions. That’s where prenatal coaching comes in. Think of it as your personalized roadmap to feeling confident and ready for birth and postpartum.

What Is Prenatal Coaching?

Prenatal coaching is a one-on-one service designed to meet you where you are and give you the tools, knowledge, and support to feel empowered about your birth experience. It’s not a one-size-fits-all childbirth class. It’s tailored to your specific needs, goals, and concerns.

Through prenatal coaching we can work on:

  • Understanding the birth process and what options are available to you.

  • Creating a birth plan that feels right for you.

  • Learning techniques to handle labor pain.

  • Build stronger communication and teamwork with your partner.

  • Get ready for life after birth, including postpartum recovery and newborn care.

What’s in It for You (and Your Partner)?

Prenatal coaching is about so much more than just prepping for labor. It’s about helping you feel confident, connected, and clear-headed as you approach one of the biggest moments of your life. You will walk into your birth experience with:

1. Personalized Support

Every pregnancy is different, and so are your needs. Prenatal coaching gives you the space to talk about what’s on your mind and get answers tailored to your situation. Whether you’re dealing with a specific medical condition, thinking about an unmedicated birth, or planning a scheduled C-section, I’ve got you covered.

2. Tools for Labor and Birth

We’ll go over practical strategies for managing labor, like breathing techniques, relaxation tips, and positions that can help. These are tools you and your partner can use to feel more in control during labor. You will leave with a menu of options to choose from to help you feel more comfortable during birth.

3. Teamwork with Your Partner

Birth is a team event, and coaching can help you and your partner work better together. We’ll talk about your partner’s role during labor and birth, how they can support you, how to communicate effectively, and how to handle the unexpected as a team.

4. Clarity and Confidence

There’s no “right” way to give birth. What matters is finding what feels right for you and feeling empowered to advocate for what you want. Coaching helps you explore your options, make informed decisions, and go into birth feeling ready instead of anxious.

5. Postpartum Prep

Your journey doesn’t stop at birth. We’ll also cover what to expect during postpartum. This includes everything from physical recovery to emotional wellness and baby care. The goal is to help you feel ready for the fourth trimester.

Virtual or In-Person

Prenatal coaching is all about what works best for you, so you can choose how you want to meet:

  • Virtual Coaching: We’ll connect over Zoom from the comfort of your home. It’s convenient, flexible, and just as effective as in-person sessions.

  • In-Person Coaching ( SF Bay Area): If you’re in the SF Bay Area, we can meet face-to-face. These sessions are great for hands-on practice with labor techniques and more personalized support.

Why Work with a Prenatal Coach?

Pregnancy can feel like a whirlwind of advice, opinions, and Google rabbit holes. Prenatal coaching helps cut through the noise and gives you clear, actionable steps to prepare for birth and beyond. My goal is to make sure you feel supported, informed, and ready for whatever comes your way.
